AMAZING ANIMAL LOVERS BLOG

Lucky and the Horse Whisperer

Howdy Friends! Busy week this week! I can't believe it's Saturday, never mind the middle of August. The summer is going by so fast and although I love the fall, this summer has been beautiful for us in the North East! But that is coming from someone who LOVES the heat and humidity!
It was time to call in a horse trainer for Lucky. She is a little shy and needed some work. This is my daughter's fiance and he is really working with her. The trainer is teaching him how to go in and out of the stall. I normally do not go in the stall with the horses, they are much bigger than us and they rule in my world. But there is a right way and a wrong way to enter the stall. If the horse shows you his hiny, then get out!
Lucky can't stand to be sprayed with bug spray. The trick is to rub the horse down with the spray bottle and make fake noises...guess what...it worked! After several times, Lucky did get use to it and now will allow you to spray her.
This women is the horse trainer. She is so good. She is to me the "Horse Whisperer!" She was teaching us how to wash her down with the hose. Lucky didn't like that too much either.
We had some bad excitement at the house tonight. The back woods were on fire when we got home and the firemen think we lost about 3 acres of woods. This is the water company land but it runs right behind our house. You know, when I got out of the car I said it smelled like someone is having a camp fire. I didn't know the woods were on fire. My neighbor came running over and thankfully all is well. I will have to see what happened in the morning.

Sorry about the fire, I'm so very glad that your family and house are safe! That's the best kind of fire to have; one that you didn't know about! A right way and a wrong way to go in and out? I've never heard of that before, can't imagine. Poor Lucky, being trained. But he really IS Lucky to have such a caring owner and kind and good helpers!

Lucky is beautiful! And also Lucky to have such a caring owner.

Sorry to hear about the fire. That's kind of scary. My parents live in a mobile home and several years ago, when I still lived with them, one of the mobile homes in the park was on fire. Fortunately, it wasn't anywhere near my parent's home but I watched it and it burned so quickly.

I hope there aren't any burning embers that didn't get put out that will restart during the night.

Scary about the fire. Hate fire season around here because you can always smell the smoke.

Goodness! I'm glad the fire didn't get to your house or any other buildings. It's bad enough to lose trees! Lucky is a beauty. It's great that the hard work is paying off!

Hi Deborah...what great pictures of Lucky. What a beauty. Will someone compete in horse shows with him?
What a relief to read that none person or animal was hurt in the fire.
